Confined Space Entry & Attendant
Our Staff
Designed to meet the requirements of the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146 Regulation.
Entering and working in a confined space is a high-risk job. It is crucial (and required) that all persons involved in confined space entry work such as supervisors, entrants, attendants, and rescue personnel understand the potential hazards of a confined space and strictly adhere to safe work practices and entry procedures.
Confined spaces can be found on many worksites, and they can limit the mobility of people who work within them. Confined spaces include (but are not limited to) underground vaults, tanks, storage bins, manholes, pits, silos, process vessels, and pipelines.
This online course satisfies the training requirements for the OSHA 29 CFR § 1910.146 Permit-Required Confined Spaces Standard.
According to OSHA, “permit-required confined space (permit space)” describes a confined space that has a potentially hazardous atmosphere; contains a material that has the potential to engulf or suffocate a person; has walls that taper down to a narrow area that can trap or suffocate a person; and has known safety or health hazards like live wires, unguarded machinery, etc.
Before initial work on an assignment can begin, an employer must provide proper training for all workers working in permit-required confined spaces. Once trained, employers must ensure that the employees have acquired the understanding, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform their duties safely.
This course is designed to meet the training demands of 29 CFR 1910.146 (k) and NFPA 1670. 24 to 40 hours of intensive classroom and field instruction insures that your facility's confined space rescue team will be proficient in the basic skills needed to safely and efficiently perform entry rescues in your workplace. Topics covered in the program include assessment of confined space hazards, atmospheric monitoring, confined space rescue equipment use and limitations, knots, vertical and horizontal hauling, lowering systems, personal protective equipment and patient packaging.
